The UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein called on the United States to end new policies separating migrant children from their parents after entering the US from Mexico, during the 38th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday.
Zeid stated that nearly 2,000 children have been affected in the past six weeks. He regards the policy as ‘unconscionable’, noting the importance of “ensuring the fundamental rights of all children.”
